Best Holiday Destinations on the North Coast of Australia

The North Coast of Australia boasts a whole host of amazing places to visit on your travels. It is a bit of journey for a lot of people but if you are planning on going over to Australia, this is one region that you cannot afford to miss. These are some of the best places that you can visit along the North Coast.

Byron Bay

Byron Bay is one of the most famous, and most popular holiday destinations in Australia, and for good reason. It is frequented by locals and tourists alike and has plenty to offer. The beautiful bay is a hub for creative professionals, with plenty of musicians, actors, and writers living there. As a result of this, there is a very relaxed, bohemian atmosphere about the whole place.

The Bay hosts two of the country’s largest music festivals every year; Byron Bluesfest and Splendour in the Grass. It is also host to one of the world's best literary festivals.

As well as all of its cultural offerings, Byron Bay is one of the best places along the coastline for surfers and has one of the best beaches. Companies like North Coast Lifestyle Properties can offer you accommodation in the area.

You should be aware, however, that the area does get very busy during peak holiday times.

Coffs Harbour

Coffs Harbour is on the mid-North Coast and can offer plenty of different activities to keep you entertained.

If you are interested in seeing wildlife, then this is definitely not a place to be missed. The Solitary Island Marine Park stretches 75 kilometers along the coast and is home to a huge variety of marine life that you can see. If you go between May and November, you can catch the whales during their annual migration, as well as be seeing clown fish and lionfish. There is also a huge butterfly house where you can see hundreds of different species of butterfly. If you want to see all of the marine life that lives under the surface, they offer diving tours of the surrounding harbour.

If you are taking younger kids, then make sure to visit the Big Banana Fun Park which is packed full of rollercoasters and waterslides for them to play on.

There is also an airport just 4 kilometers away from Coffs Harbour so you could fly in and make this the first stop on your tour of the North Coast.

Clarence Valley

If you are interested in seeing some natural wonders, the Clarence Valley is the place for you. It is home to a section of World-Heritage rainforest and is another good spot for surfing.

The Clarence River runs through the rainforest so you have the choice of experiencing it by boat or on foot. The river is world famous for its prawns so it is a must for seafood lovers.

The rainforest walking tours are a great place to spot many different species of rare birds and other wildlife and you can also see the dolphin and whale migrations from here as well.
