Package Holidays: Better Or Worse?

Wednesday, May 17, 2017

Package holidays used to be incredibly popular, but they’ve fallen out of favor a bit in recent years. There are still some good deals out there, and people are still using them, though not nearly as much. Is that because they just aren’t as good as booking directly? Well, it isn’t quite that simple, there are good arguments for both types of holiday. It depends on your situation and what deals are available a lot of the time, but package holidays can certainly work in your favor, as can direct booking. For anybody out there that’s struggling to choose a holiday, here are some pros and cons of package holiday deals.

Guiltless Thirst Quenchers: Fruitfull by Thirsty Opens in SM CDO Downtown Premier

Sunday, May 14, 2017

If you ask me to choose between exercising and dieting, there's no doubt I'd choose the former. I honestly find dieting a bit challenging for me and I would rather burn myself out at the gym. I'm a certified foodie and I literally would eat anything. However, we all know that in order to achieve a fit body, we need to pair exercise with a good diet.

That is why I was really grateful when Fruitfull by Thirsty finally opened its FIRST branch here in Cagayan de Oro at the Food Hall of the new SM CDO Downtown Premier. It is perfect for me for a couple of reasons. One, because I like to keep my thirst quenched with unhealthy drinks (soda, colored liquids, etc.) and instead of buying drinks that can make me feel guilty, I can now enjoy hydrating myself the healthy way!

The Four Best Ways To Explore This Summer

Wednesday, May 10, 2017

Whether you’re vacationing or staycationing this summer, exploration is key. From discovering exciting historic monuments, delicious back-street delicatessens, or cute little boutiques, to rediscovering the city you call home, the excitement is in exploration. Summer is all about seeing new things, enjoying new experiences, and catching a few rays.

While the comfort of your own car is a great way to get around (and we all love a good bit of AC in the hot summer months), it’s not the best way to explore. There are no new smells or new flavors, and you’ve whizzed past any new sights before you really get a chance to take it in. When you’re in a car, you can’t just zip down an interesting looking side street, jump into an intriguing second-hand bookstore, or buy an ice-cream from a street vendor. You have to find places to park, follow the rules of the road, and chances are, you’re missing the best sights. So why not put the car away for the summer, and get out there on foot, by bike, in the air or in the water. Or a combination of all four! This really is the summer for exploration.

Travel Light: Capsule Hostel in Cebu City at Shejoje Poshtel

Wednesday, May 03, 2017

Spent my laborday weekend in Cebu to take a break from work. Whenever I travel, I make sure I pack light and bring only what's essential. Also, as a budget traveler, I am always on the lookout for the cheapest cafes, restos, and accommodations. However, low value or low cost should never translate to low quality. In Shejoje Poshtel, you get value for money (got my 5 nights and 6 days accommodation for only Php 2,440). Not to mention they have the comfiest bed and pillows!

Tuesday, May 02, 2017 Cebu City, Cebu, Philippines

I love food. Well, who doesn't? One Friday lunch, my friend and I stumbled upon a quaint fusion restaurant along the famous Axis Entertainment Avenue in Cebu City. We were hungry and I suddenly had this craving for Mexican food, but my friend was in the mood to eat Korean dishes, so it's a good thing SEÑOR KIMCHI offers both!
