Tuesday, February 28, 2017

Australia is a location that’s on almost every traveller’s bucket list. It’s somewhere that at one point or another, most travel lovers hope to spend some time exploring. Whether that’s for a two-week vacation or a three-month road trip, there are some places down under that you do not want to miss, including Australia’s best cities. If you’re planning on travelling to Australia any time soon, these are the cities (and attractions within them) that you do not want to miss.

Sydney

Of all the cities in Australia, Sydney is the most popular with visitors, and it’s easy to see why. It may not be the country’s capital city, but it is an incredible place. A lively metropolitan city complete with an array of incredible restaurants and bars, amazing beaches, fantastic hotels, and a vast array of diverse wildlife - this is most definitely a city that it’s worth taking the time to explore. From the world-famous Sydney Opera House and architectural beauty of Sydney Bridge to Bondi Beach and Sydney Olympic Park, there’s plenty to see and do here. There are lots of wonderful places to eat, in fact, there’s great Thai food at Sydney Olympic Park, in beach shacks at Bondi Beach, and from street vendors that line the bustling streets, as well as in fancy restaurants. There’s an array of places to stay, from luxurious five-star hotels to budget-friendly hostels - there are plenty of options to choose from.

Perth

The city of Perth is one of Australia’s smaller cities, but it’s still somewhere that’s more than worth visiting. The capital city of Western Australia, Perth is an incredibly relaxed and laid back place that moves at a slower pace than other cities within the country. Australia’s fastest growing city, Perth is impressive and is a must-visit destination while you’re exploring the land down under. Home to beautiful parks including one of the largest inner city parks in the country, bars and nightclubs, restaurants and eateries, hotels and hostels, and an array of interesting sights and attractions, Perth is an interesting place to visit and explore. For anyone who loves animals, Perth Zoo, the Aquarium of Western Australia, and Matilda Bay are must-visit attractions.

Adelaide

Adelaide is most probably one of Australia’s most overlooked cities. However, it’s also an incredibly beautiful place with plenty on offer to see and do. Unlike Sydney and Perth, Adelaide is more like a large country town, rather than a bustling city. Although it has lots of lovely restaurants and bars, Adelaide isn’t a big party place because it has a slightly older population than Australia’s other cities. However, if you’re into kangaroos and koalas, Adelaide could be the perfect place for you as it’s in close proximity to Kangaroo Island, where there are more koalas and kangaroos than there are cars - pretty amazing, huh? Adelaide is also home to some incredible art galleries and museums, a zoo and conservation park, and also an incredible botanical garden, among many other sights and attractions.

There you have it, a guide to exploring Australia’s best cities.
