Relaxing: It's Good For Your Health

Thursday, October 12, 2017

A standard eight-hour work day isn’t just a standard day anymore. With commute times added on, most people spend up to twelve hours away from their homes and working in an office for someone else. Commuting, spending most days working away at the office and spending time with people who aren’t your friends and family- it’s stressful. We grow up from childhood and spend more time being busy and working than we do relaxing and taking time to unwind, and this can really creep up on us when we aren’t looking.

Health is one of the biggest topics out there that people talk about. Depression and anxiety are on the rise and if you aren’t taking the time to look after yourself and destress, you could be caught up in the same cycle of stress that a lot of people do. So, how can you take the time to relax after a long working day?

What's Life Without A Playful Gadget?

Playfulness in children and animals is interpreted as a sign of intelligence. While we rightly transfer the conclusion to the area of playfulness in adults, we are missing essential elements in this humoristic equation. Playful adults don’t only display intelligence and humor; but they can also reinterpret the situations in their lives in an entertaining way, which helps them to reduce stress. Playfulness is an independent personality trait that gives you a superpower in everyday life: It enables you to relax in the most challenging situations, whether your flight is delayed by several hours or you’re having a bad day at work. Naturally, there’s a balance to hold about playfulness. If you express too much of it in the wrong situation, people may not take you seriously. Too little, and you're struggling with stress and anxiety disorders. So the best way to introduce a controlled level of entertainment and fun in your life is to rely on your favorite gadgets.

5 Reasons to Stay at Hotel de Susana and Resort

Thursday, October 05, 2017 Valencia City, Bukidnon, Philippines

One of the many things I love about living in Cagayan de Oro is the fact that it's the gateway to many great places in Northern Mindanao, particularly Bukidnon. It's home to many tourist destinations and the famous Del Monte Pineapple Plantation.

I've been to several parts of Bukidnon a lot of times already, but I usually just stay overnight and don't mind the hassle of traveling since it's roughly an hour or two away from CDO by private car. That's why in my recent trip to Bukidnon, I made sure to maximize my stay for a little weekend getaway at Hotel de Susana & Resort. I heard so many good things about it so I made sure to share it with some good friends. My quick stay at Hotel de Susana had one of those rare moments wherein I didn't want to leave. I promised myself to go back there for a longer stay!

If you’re in Cebu and have gone around the city, you’ll notice the number of new establishments popping left and right. And by that I mean, new places to hang, eat, chill and unwind with family or friends. I just moved in here in the city and for the past few weeks, it was no shocker that there still a lot of places that I still have to try.

What Really Makes The Rebel Look So Darn Appealing?

Friday, September 08, 2017

Men around the world stood to attention and took notice of on-screen characters like Mad Max, The Terminator, and James Bond when they first appeared on the scene. Suddenly, dressing like you didn’t care hot and both men and women wished they had that kind of confidence. The more you look into this kind of fashion sense of leather jackets, straight cut jeans and rugged boots, the more you realize that actually, it does take a lot of effort to look like you haven’t tried. On top of this, it's a very masculine and domineering look, so you can’t quite venture outside of the box too far else you lose the pure aim of the style. You’re probably wondering, what can you do, to start looking like the man that doesn’t abide by societal norms. Well, there are a few ground rules you must adhere to if you want this rugged look.

Sneak Peek: The Librewry Café

Sunday, September 03, 2017 Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental, Philippines

Being a digital nomad, I regularly head out to work and finish some projects on my laptop while sipping on a copious amount of coffee. If you're like me, then you've probably encountered the feeling of being hopeless in finding a good spot to be productive. Let me break it to you, the search is over! The all-new Librewry Café will officially open their doors once again in a new location on September 8, 2017.

My friends and I were able to take a look and experience it ourselves since they're now on their soft opening. Because of its strategic location in the heart of Divisoria, public transportation is not a problem!

One feature to love in their new site is that they now offer a wide-range of food items for everyone to munch on while being productive in their own study place. Further, they now added a "function room" with closed doors, which is ideal for group discussions and meetings. It can be utilized by anyone at a fair price (Php 2,000 for 3 hours and additional of Php 500 for an additional hour). You can also rent the entire place for only Php 5,000 for 3 hours. Do note that all rates are consumable and on a first-come, first-served basis.

What I love most about this place is that they're open 24/7! It's definitely my one-stop place to read my favorite book, catch up on my favorite series, and work on my backlogs. The Librewry Café is starting to feel like my second home already. Hope you guys enjoy this visual diary!

Even A Gent Needs Accessories

Thursday, July 20, 2017

 adult, appointment, business

In the fashion community, it’s well known that accessories are often the pieces of an outfit which tie everything together. Whether they add a bit of color, texture, or a unique twist, the accessories you wear with your formal clothing are very important. The rules in place are strict, to ensure that everything looks good together. So, you have to learn a thing or two before you can strut your stuff. To help you with this, this post will be going through four of the most important male accessories you can get.

The tie you wear with a suit is very important. The color has to be right, matching the rest of the suit and accessories, and it has to be the right shape. Thankfully, most clothing stores will have a wide range of colors available. And, if you’re stuck, you could go for an option which matches the color of the rest of the suit. Along with your tie, you can also consider a nice belt to go with your suits. This part of the outfit should match the color of your shoes. So, if you have black shoes, you would go for a black belt. Or, if the shoes are brown, the belt should be, too.

It’s surprising how big an impact your socks can have on your overall outfit. A lot of people make the mistake of simply matching their socks with their tie, going for the same color. Instead, though, it’s better to base your socks on the color of your trousers. Experts recommend that you choose a shade or two lighter than your shorts. So, if you had blue trousers, you could go for lighter gray-blue socks.

Most men will choose to wear a watch with their suit, and this part is very important, too. Most people can’t afford a watch for each outfit, unfortunately. So, finding the right option might take some time. You can buy watches for men on loads of different sites. If you find one you like, you could further invest in straps and the tools to change them to save some money. You should buy straps to match the belts and shoes you have, with leather being better than metal in most modern settings.

Finally, on to one of the most important accessories, your suit can have; shoes. The shoes you wear can change the look of your entire outfit, so it’s important that you choose the right ones. The color of your shoes should complement the rest of your outfit, making the other colors around them pop. Most people will go for either black or brown leather shoes for their formal outfits. But, you could try something a little more interesting if you’re willing to take a risk.

Hopefully, this post will give you a helping hand you need when you’re choosing accessories for your next formal occasion. Most people fail to put this sort of effort into their formal gear. But, it can have a real impact on your appearance. So, it’s worth at least considering.

Dress To Impress On Your Next Job Interview

Wednesday, July 19, 2017

Job interviews can be tough; the nerves, anticipation, and having to remember answers to questions that you haven’t even been asked yet. Therefore, it’s vital to get off to a great start by feeling confident in your appearance and looking your best. If you feel smart and well-groomed as you wait to go into whatever office you’re being interviewed in; the rest will seem a little easier, and you won’t be fidgeting in your seat to adjust your attire. The following are some things to consider if you have an interview coming up and need some help to prepare.

Look Sharp

Whatever job you’re being interviewed for; you’ll need to look as smart as possible. Whether you after a business role in a modern office environment, or you’re after a hands-on physical career in building work; your potential employer will notice the effort that you made that day, and it shows that you care about being there. A classic suit, shirt, and tie is always a great outfit option. If you can’t afford a new suit (until your first payday; think positive), there’s always the option of hiring a decent one for a fraction of the cost.

If you have a number of interviews lined up; it might be worth investing in a suit or taking a second hand one to be tailored and fitted correctly. If your clothes look like they were made for you, you’ll look sharp and feel great. Make sure that everything is well pressed or steamed on the morning of your interview; creases look untidy, and employers are unlikely to appreciate an untidy candidate. Do some final checks in the bathroom for lint or fluff, and remove them before you go in so that you look dapper; you’ve got this.

Stand Out

Your potential new boss may have seen multiple candidates for the job role in one day; so you want to wear something that will stand out a little and ensure that they remember you. If you favor neutral or beige ties, add a brightly colored pocket square or vice versa. You don’t need to head to toe in a crazy printed fabric; however, try to portray your personality a little to stand out from the crowd in the waiting room.

Perhaps you have a vintage briefcase with a story behind it or a pocket watch and waistcoat that’s been handed down through your family; whatever the focus is, your interviewer will take note, and you’ll stick in their mind a bit more than the rest do.

Walk Tall

Your body language is the best way to show (or pretend) how confident you are; don’t walk in hunched and small. Walk proud and tall into your interview so that your outfit looks better and you’ll be more approachable and a pleasure to talk to. Give a firm handshake and smile; you can cover up any nerves and insecurities that you might be feeling. For more body language tips during an interview, take a look here and practice at home beforehand. If you give off confidence and charm; you’ll be an attractive prospect for any company, and you should have no problem in securing your next job role or career move.

New Look Before You Travel

Wednesday, July 12, 2017

When it’s time to hit the road again, we want to ensure we look superb. After all, we want to stand out on the beach. And look fantastic when we are trailing through the bars and restaurants on our trip. After all, we don’t want to look back at our holiday photos and hate how we look. In fact, it can turn a great memory into a bad one. Therefore, just before you travel, you need to work on shaping up your appearance. In fact, here is how to pull off a new look before you travel.

Work on your skin care

You might have mistakenly thought it was just teens who have to deal with the horror which is spots. But a lot of young adults also have to deal with acne in their 20’s too. And it can bring down your appearance when it’s time to make your travels. After all, you will feel like people are looking straight at your bad skin when you are meeting new people on vacation. Therefore, before you go on your travels, you should work on your skin care. That way, you can have a clear face before you hit the plane. Firstly, make sure you are exfoliating and moisturizing in the morning. It will hydrate your face and reduce any redness you might be dealing with. You might even want to use a face mask which can boost your skin and help with any spots. Or you could even look into going for a facial which is perfect for clearing up your skin. And then you can head off on holiday with better skin! Just remember to ensure you pack some sun lotion which you use on your face. After all, you don’t want to end up burning your skin which will cause problems like lines and wrinkles which will make you look older!

Time for a haircut

Poor hair can bring down your whole appearance. After all, you can spend hours working on other areas of your body. But if you have bad hair, all the focus will go on the cut when you are out and about. Therefore, you need to ensure your hair is in good shape before you go on your travels. That way, even if you don’t style it after being in the sea, you can still ensure it still looks superb. And you won’t look back with regret at your hair in pictures. It might be the case you book in for a hair appointment. After all, the hairdresser will ensure your hair is cut to perfection before you go on holiday. And you can ensure any dead hair is cut away, leaving you with a fresh and new cropped style. Just make sure you don’t go for something too different. After all, you don’t want to hate your new style, and can’t do anything about it before the holiday. You can also get your own hair clippers to cut your hair into style. Just look online for the best hair clippers and trimmers for men to then be able to create a great style. You can even take them on holiday with you. That way, if you need a touch-up, you can quickly change your hair to ensure you look fantastic while on vacation. And remember to pack some good shampoo and conditioner. That way, it will stay in good condition even when you are using vacation water!

Have a good shave

If you like a clear cut look, you should ensure you have a good shave before you hit your holiday. After all, you want to make sure you are smooth shaven when you hit the beach. That way, you don’t have to worry about your appearance when you are in the pool and sunbathing. You don’t want to look back at photos and wish that you had spent more time working on your facial hair. That way, spend time working on making it look perfect before you hit the road. You might even want to go to barbers where you can get it cut professionally. That way, you can have a smooth shave which will look great. And if you are keeping your beard for the trip, ensure you still give it a trim. After all, you don’t want it to look out of control when you look back at pictures.

Remember to ensure you are drinking plenty of water. Not only does it have a wealth of benefits for your health, but it can improve your skin, hair, and nails!
