Korea is one of the places on my bucket list that I’ve always wanted to cross out, but after paying 678 Chicken CDO a visit, I felt like I teleported to another place and had a taste of Korea in an instant! Talk about traveling by taste!
678 Chicken CDO– This latest modest food spot with a peculiar name is easy to miss. But what most people don’t know is that this place serves an extensive menu of Korean chicken specialties, so it could be overwhelming to decide what to have. However, the attentive service crew would gladly steer you in the right direction. You can choose between a variety of premium fried chicken and premium season chicken.
If you’re a first timer, you can start with something as simple as the 678 Original– huge pieces of perfectly cooked crispy chicken coated with a flavorful batter, ensuring savory goodness that is best paired with rice or a pint of beer (yes, that’s how they roll in Korea). You can also try some of the familiar stuff on the menu such as the Basasak Chicken– Korean style crispy, tender and juicy meat encrusted with a crunchy outer layer. There’s also the GochuJang Chicken– smothered in sweet chili paste sauce. The spice is not too overpowering; it’s just enough to tickle and excite your taste buds and leave you wanting for more! My friends and I were already full, but we left some little space in our tummy for some Ganjang Chicken (my favorite!), a unique take on a classic taste of garlic, onion, and Korean soy sauce. The serving is really overwhelming, too! I never expected to see HUGE pieces of chicken to be served on our table haha! So, it’s best if you go there in groups. The price depends on the flavor and number of pieces you order, but it ranges from Php260-Php399.
678 Chicken also has a number of sides that pair well with the chicken. Aside from the usual French Fries, garlic butter potato, corn macaroni salad, and coleslaw, they also offer Bulgogi rice, Premium Wagyu Bulgogi Burger, DDukboki, and so much more! Check out their menu below.
The owner mentioned that everything inside the restaurant was directly shipped from Korea! Plus points on keeping things authentic as possible.
Hungry table-mates. Eat now, cry later lol.
Side note: eating chicken paired with beer is a big thing to Korean food culture. Go give it a try! But take it easy on the beer, buddy. Haha! Special thanks to 678 Chicken for the invite. Also, big thanks to CJ Kho and Claire Borja :)
